Rosemary TeaRosemary tea is highly beneficial for relieving back pain. Rosemary leaf comprises of four inflammation reducing substances. Once such substance, Carnosol also has aspirin-like effect. Another one known as ursolic acid has anti-arthritic properties. How to use: Add half ounce of rosemary plant leaves in one quart air tight jar and fill the same with boiling water. Let it stand for thirty minutes after covering the jar tightly. Drink a hot cup of this herbal concoction before sleeping and after waking up in the morning. Epsom Salt Epsom salt baths have been traditionally used to curb back ache and other body aches. Epsom salt is mainly magnesium sulfate. The hot soothing effect of Epsom salt bath increases blood circulation and reduces the swelling caused by inflammation of joints. Through Epsom salt bath, the magnesium in the Epsom salt gets absorbed directly in the skin. Magnesium is a significant mineral found in the human body and has both anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic attributes. How to use: Fill a bathtub with hot water, as hot as your body can tolerate. Just add two cups of Epsom salt and bathe in it for thirty to forty minutes. Using hot water is essential for this herbal therapy. Angelica There are various species of angelica found in the world and all of them have been used to relieve pain. Angelica contains pain relieving and spasmolytic attributes. How to use: in half quart of water add one tablespoon of angelica cut roots. Boil it in a covered utensil. Once boiled, let the concoction reach room temperature in the covered utensil. Divide the angelica tea in three parts and take them in three doses during the day to get relief in back pain. Most of these herbs and salts are easily available. However, at times you may face difficulty in procuring these herbs. In such cases herbal remedies can be used for same anti-arthritic, spasmolytic and anti-inflammatory effects.
